The Story Behind It

The client loved her entertainment center but felt the television and upper cabinets dominated the room. Instead of replacing the built ins, we reimagined them. By painting the trees continuously across the walls and cabinet doors, the cabinetry visually disappears into the landscape while the television becomes a quieter part of the overall composition. What was once a functional wall is now an immersive focal point that feels light, timeless, and seamlessly integrated into the home.

Inspired by tropical landscapes and the elegance of Louisiana’s roseate spoonbills, the mural frames the opening with layers of foliage and wildlife that naturally guide the eye into the next space. By treating the walls as a continuation of the architecture, the entry becomes a memorable feature rather than simply a place to walk through.
