The Story Behind It

The goal was to create more than a decorative wall. Every element, from the disco ball and florals to the butterflies and neon light, was chosen to reflect the clinic’s personality. We even transformed a section of the mural into custom stickers for the reception desk, allowing the artwork to live beyond the walls.

This mural was designed to reflect Magpie Café’s welcoming spirit while creating a memorable landmark that celebrates both its history and the people who continue to shape it.

The Story Behind It

One of the most meaningful details in this mural is the pair of magpies. The original owners and the current owners are both husband and wife teams, making the two birds a quiet tribute to the relationships that have helped shape the café over the years. Rather than simply illustrating the logo, the mural tells a story of continuity, honoring the past while celebrating the next chapter of Magpie Café.

Where we live influences how we feel each day. Designed for the residents of Rivermark, this mural brings the character of downtown Baton Rouge into the fitness center, creating an energetic space that feels connected to both the building and the city beyond its walls.

The Story Behind It

Located in the heart of downtown Baton Rouge, the mural was designed to celebrate the city surrounding it rather than compete with it. The skyline serves as the focal point, while flowing lines inspired by the Rivermark logo weave through the composition, tying the architecture, brand, and movement together. The result is a mural that gives residents a stronger sense of place every time they step into the fitness center.

The owners wanted a mural that did more than decorate the building. It needed to attract attention, communicate what they offered, and feel unmistakably like Le Rêve. By incorporating the café’s logo, colors, coffee imagery, and botanical details across multiple walls, the mural creates a cohesive identity that can be recognized from several angles.

What My Client Had to Say

The first time I met Kristen, my first thought was, “Who is this jacked girl with a paintbrush?” 😂

And let me tell you—she’s every bit as talented as she is jacked.

We gave her nothing more than a few bullet-point ideas of what we wanted, and she brought the entire mural to life. It was like typing a vague prompt into ChatGPT and getting back something that completely exceeded your expectations.
